Character Creation |
It is recommend that the player look at existing party members before
creating a new character. A brief outline of the current party members
may be found here.
AttributesSimply use the method described in the Player's Handbook to determine attributes. It's nothing fancy, but it gets results that work for the group. If you generate a character that you believe to be completely unplayable, consult the DM. Chances are the character isn't as bad as you think, and may even provide more fun than your ‘perfect' character, but sometimes you just have to re-roll.
LevelUnless stated otherwise, all new characters start one level below the average of the party( rounding down). For characters joining the game in this manner starting money and equipment are determined by the DM on a case by case basis.
Class ChangesBelow are presented the house-rule changes made to the classes as presented in the core rule book. With the exception of the rules below, classes behave exactly as in the Player's Handbook.
Monk
Hit PointsAll characters receive their maximum number of hit-points for the first three levels as if they had rolled the highest number possible for their class. As such, a fighter with no constitution or other bonuses will have 10 hp at first level, 20 at second, and 30 at third. After third level, players are required to roll for HP as per the usual rules.
Other house rules pertaining to character creationHeroic adventure is the core of our games and as such evil player characters are not allowed. In addition it is highly encouraged that all PC's be of a good alignment.Regardless of beginning level each character begins the game with one hero point. See the Gameplay house rules for information pertaining to hero points.
